The Filipino-Canadian Construction Society (FCCS) celebrated a major milestone on November 14, 2025, as more than 200 members, partners, and community leaders gathered at the Quilchena Golf & Country Club for its 19th Founding Anniversary Gala. The evening highlighted recognition, cultural pride, and FCCS’s ongoing commitment to supporting Filipino professionals in British Columbia’s construction industry.
Program hosts Kassy Mercado, Josephine Fard, and Heidi Ng-Liang led the celebration with enthusiasm, honouring the members and supporters who have strengthened FCCS since 2006. The event also welcomed representatives from the Vancouver Regional Construction Association, led by Craig Larkins, and civic leaders including Hon. Maita Santiago, who later officiated the induction ceremony.
Guests paid tribute to FCCS Founding President Amado Mercado Jr., whose leadership helped unite Filipino builders, engineers, contractors, and professionals under one mission of excellence and collaboration.
A key highlight of the night was the Induction of Officers and Board of Directors for 2025–2027. Armand Perez was sworn in as the new President, emphasizing unity, professional growth, and continued service to the Filipino-Canadian community. His strong engineering and project-management background set an encouraging direction for the new term.

FCCS extended its appreciation to the organizations in attendance and to the sponsors whose support sustains its programs. The gala featured performances by Salve & Ed Dayao and Arielle Tuliao, engaging raffle draws, and community acknowledgments—all contributing to a lively and memorable celebration.
Closing remarks from Amado Mercado III reflected on FCCS’s achievements and the volunteer spirit that drives the organization. The evening ended with an open dance floor, bringing the community together in fellowship and joy.
As FCCS moves toward its 20th year, the 19th Anniversary Gala stands as a proud reminder of a shared legacy built on resilience, leadership, and the enduring Filipino spirit.
